  • Mood: uNF!
  • Listening to: Green Day
  • Watching: Mystery Science Theater 3000
I swiped this from Mr. :iconjimmymisanthrope:. Here we go:

1. What does your deviantART name mean and why?
[link]

Evangelion is my favorite anime of all time, plus I love the concept of “the angel of free will.” I get into discussions about free will often when it comes to religion, so it seemed to fit.

2. What fandom were you obsessed with when you joined and what are you into now?
Well, scrolling through my gallery, you’ll see a good chunk of Sonic the Hedgehog fanart. I was also pretty into Kim Possible (yeah, I have odd tastes, I know). That was a while ago. I don’t particularly have much of an interest in Sonic anymore. It kind of got ruined for me from various factors. Right now, while into stuff personally, I don’t draw any fanart anymore. So I guess I’m just obsessed with “Alone in a Crowd.”

3. How many watchers do you have now?
Looks to be around 87.

4. Name 3 of your favourite artists on dA.
:iconjimmymisanthrope: :iconkabukikatze: :iconcopperage:

5. Do you comment, fav, or both?
I try to do both whenever I can. I’m not fond of faving without leaving at least a LITTLE comment.

6. Do you participate in clubs' contests here on dA?
I used to way back when. I don’t anymore.

7. What is your most popular deviation?
I’ll never seem to be able to live down:

Honestly, I can’t really pick one over the other. I love them both for different reasons.

17. How many hours a day do you spend on dA?

Why hide talent? :P

I happened to stumble across your comic the other day and I'm glad I did. The story is really cute and I've enjoyed reading thus far. I can only hope my comic gets such a warm reception as it seems yours has, lol. Anyway, keep it up man, it's been bookmarked and will be checked. :)

It's well deserved, no thanks needed. :)

As for mine, feel free to drop by anytime. It's still in its illustrated childhood, only 6 pages...I'm slow >_> I'm shooting for a page a week, school tends to derail the best laid plans however.

Which actually brings another question to mind. It seems a lot of online comic writers only plan a few pages or an arc ahead. Which did you choose; a completed story, arc by arc, or just a few pages ahead? I can't plan ahead to save my life, so I've opted for the completed story so I know where I need to go. Otherwise holy ADD story! Speaking of which, now I'm rambling...heh.

I kind of do a little a both. One thing I like to say to people is that before I started, I knew how Alone in a Crowd would begin, and I knew how it would end. Everything in between is open for whatever strikes me!

That doesn't mean I have NO clue what's going to come within the course of the strip from start to finish (whenever that is in the far off future). I have quite a few story arcs and ideas that I want to do, I just haven't decided where and when to do them. No matter what though, I want to have things planned out many pages ahead, that way I know everything will work out and play off each other. If I want to change something in an earlier strip so I can do something else in a later strip, then this way I'm able to. But I wouldn't say I always have a complete arc written out as a final script when I start it. Mostly just the general flow.

I find even when you do write a lot of ahead of time, it doesn't necessarily help you. I had Alone in a Crowd in my head before I was ready to actually do it. So between then and when I actually started drawing the strips, I wrote FAR ahead. In fact, I'm still making strips based off my initial scribblings from back then. The problem is that at one point I changed a very important plot point. That meant that all the scripts following that had to be re-written to reflect the change. So even though I have quite a few AIAC scripts already written and planned out right now, they still can require some re-writing and such when I actually go to draw them. That, or I may decide to throw a whole new strip within the ones already planned out. That's happened quite a few times.

I've experienced the annoyance of re-editing a large chunk of my story as well. Somewhere around page 20 I changed a major plot point for Kassian, one of my main characters. I then needed to go back in and change everything onward...and I've written alot, well over 250 pages. I first planned on it being a "light-novel" of sorts such as a lot of manga/anime series start out as, but I like drawing so I went this route. Luckily on my fourth or fifth revision I decided that no more major changes are needed. That is not to say I won't toss in addition story arcs or side-stories. Well anyway I don't mean to be whoring my name or anything so I'll let you be. :)

Thanks for the add btw, it's appreciated. If this first week back student teaching doesn't kill me I'll have to make it something worth seeing, haha. :)

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that ^-^

There's some really great stuff coming (at least I like to think so), so I hope you continue to enjoy!
